To be at peace with yourself you need balance and harmony in your life. Since most of us spend most of our time at home and at work our energies and emotions can become chaotic. Feng Shui may help you become clear headed and peaceful, possibly totally eliminating chaos. So… back to the question… What is Feng Shui?
Feng shui is not ”mumbo-jumbo". It is rooted in some very old Chinese practices which actually make a lot of sense. It is based on the belief of the presence of chi or energy in the environment. A logical source is the regular occurrence of movement of molecules and atoms. Where there’s movement, there’s positive force.
Just what is feng shui decorating?
It is to feel comfort in one’s home office or bedroom due to the usage of the five elements of feng shui. The elements used are water, earth, metal, fire, and wood. The examples to these elements are: red vases and pillowcases (fire), earthenware pots (earth), silver or white table stands (metal), glass objects, white stones (water) and live plants, wooden furniture (wood). An understanding of the concepts of Yin (passive) and Yang (active) energies would ensure that the elements in a room complement each other and so fosters harmony in the place as good chi or positive energy fills in all the spaces. On entering your house, the placement of some greenery, a mirror and side table to put down things would certainly be welcoming to any guest. Natural light and air can bring into the house its own energies when there are open spaces like a living area or hallway. It is good to decorate with all the favorite things being in place yet with simplicity to avoid clutter. By wisely planning the seating arrangement, talking and mingling are promoted while keeping a door in sight. If you think it is necessary, use a mirror to reflect the door. Learning the process of feng shui decorating principles can be achieved with patience. As the system dwells on energies, you should be able to generate the feeling of ease as you create the environment you have always wanted.
