What if you’ve applied your layers of cover-up, foundation, powder, and make-up but still see acne and blemishes? That can be frustrating. Maybe your facial spots are current acne bubbles, discoloration, or acne scars. Either way, you skin will look irritated and uneven. But, there’s a remedy. You can smooth out your skin tone and cover-up those blemishes on your skin.
1 - Redness. It's very difficult to cover-up irritated red spots on your skin with a concealer. Try using a green-tinted cover-up. Green is the direct opposite of red on the color-wheel and so green acts as a neutralizing color to red. Using green concealer on a red spot will make your skin look more even-toned with the rest of your skin. You can also find cover-ups that are designed to mask red spots and uneven skin acne patches.
2 - Discoloration. Skin can become lighter or darker in some areas for a number of reasons. It can be due to acne, cuts or scrapes, sun burn, wind burn, or dehydration. Covering up these areas or blending these areas with regular make-up is a difficult task. Try using a color corrector. Apply it before your put on your make-up. It will even out your skin tone and even help prevent further problems. Use a concealer specifically designed for smoothing skin tone. Many cover-ups are only designed to address small spots or blemishes, not large areas of discoloration.
3 - Acne and Scars. Anyone who has had a breakout can tell you how difficult it is to cover up an acne spot. It doesn't have to be difficult any longer. Of course, you want to get rid of these blemishes as soon as possible, but you also want to cover them up in the meantime. Why not do both with a concealer that contains salicylic acid? For larger problem areas, including birthmarks and moles, you can find a concealer that will give you additional coverage. One such concealer is Cover FX Concealer. This concealer will actually adjust to your skin tone to give you a more even look.
It's important to note that it's best to not count on one product to correct all of your acne skin problems. You may need to keep various products on hand to address each of these acne issues when they arise. Applying a broad-based cover-up, followed by the spot concealers, can often give you the best look. Just remember to remove make-up again as soon as possible and cleanse your skin to prevent any new pores from becoming clogged.
